Hey everyone, Dori here! So I was scrolling through the news today and I’m honestly shook. Parliament just cleared the way for our UPDF soldiers to be deployed to Gaza under some new plan by President Trump.
I know our boys are brave—we’ve seen them in Somalia and South Sudan—but Gaza? That place is a whole different level of messy right now. As a digital marketer, I’m always looking at the 'why' behind things, and honestly, I don't get the benefit for us Ugandans. The opposition MPs were even complaining that they didn't get enough time to look at the details.
We have so many issues here at home, like the drought hurting our farmers and people stealing PDM money in places like Maracha. Shouldn't we be focusing on fixing our own backyard first? I’m all for peace, but I just hope we aren't putting our soldiers in unnecessary danger just to please big global powers. What do you guys think? Is this a good move for Uganda or are we overreaching?
