Is it just me, or are we still waiting on the gear the Task Force promised back in January? I’m seeing the reports that the influx is easing up this week, and guys like Oscar Iboy are out there doing great work with community clean-ups. But honestly, my dive shop shouldn't have to rely solely on volunteers to keep the water clear for our guests.

We were told we’d have a 'Weedoo' workboat and that DESMI floating collector unit for offshore collection by the 2026 season. It’s August now. I’ve been out sailing and haven't seen any of this new tech in the water. If the influx is 'medium' right now, this is the perfect time to be testing that equipment before the next big mat hits us.

Does anyone actually know if this gear arrived in San Pedro, or is it stuck in some warehouse in Belize City? I’m all for sustainable tourism, but we can't protect the reef if the government doesn't follow through on the tools they promised.
