Sawasdee ka everyone. I am sitting here in Chiang Mai looking at the news and my heart just sinks. They just announced that Khao Yai National Park is closed indefinitely because the bridge at Haew Narok Waterfall was completely destroyed by flash floods.

I’ve taken so many groups there for trekking and photography. Seeing that powerful water wash away a whole bridge is a huge wake-up call. The BMA says over 50,000 families in Bangkok are underwater too, and it’s hitting 25 provinces. Even though I’m a pragmatist, we can't just ignore how extreme this weather is getting.

As a tour operator, this is scary. Safety is my number one priority, but how do we plan trails when nature is this unpredictable? I’m worried for my friends in the industry and all the families who lost their homes today. Eight people have already died—it’s just devastating. Please stay safe, pack your bags high, and check the weather before you even think about heading out. Nature is beautiful, but right now, she is very angry.
