Saw the news today about Sam Altman and the other tech CEOs finally admitting they need to slow down the pace of AI. Honestly, it’s about time. As a carpenter, I know if you rush a job, the whole structure ends up weak or dangerous. These guys have been throwing stuff at the wall for years without thinking about what it does to regular people's jobs or how we even control it.

Trump is already calling them out for 'slowing down,' but for once, I think the tech guys are right to be worried. We shouldn't be letting a few billionaires in Silicon Valley decide the future for the rest of us just to beat other countries. Pacing the development so we can actually have safety checks and independent auditors makes sense. If you don't have a solid foundation, the house is gonna fall down. We need to get the safety side right before this gets any further out of hand. Moving fast and breaking things works for software, but not for the real world.
